St. Edward High School and other partner schools across Greater Cleveland are excited to welcome students to CLEIMUN26 on Feb. 11-13 2026.
The Cleveland International Model United Nations conference is the only one of its kind in the world, combining elements from the “North American” and “THIMUN or European” styles.
CLEIMUN25 will run on-site and in person at St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio on Wednesday Feb. 11 (4 p.m. to 7 p.m.), Thursday Feb. 12 (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and Friday Feb. 13 (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
CLEIMUN26 Theme
The Role of Youth in a Divisive World
Throughout history, youth have often been the leaders of many globally-important social and political movements. At the same time, youth are uniquely affected by global crises, violent conflict, geopolitical tensions, humanitarian despair, etc. It is for this reason that the youth have an interest in being brought to the table in issues of global importance including climate change, human rights, war, poverty, etc. Youth also serve as a valuable tool for global leaders to utilize to achieve common goals.
Acknowledging that today's youth will one day be global leaders, CLEIMUN26 will ask pressing questions about how youth can step up to the challenge of shaping tomorrow's world. Delegates will be forced to determine how and to what extent to include youth in important conversations and to determine what role youth should have in shaping the future. They will be tasked with ensuring that the youth become a force for positive change and unity, rather than a source of conflict and division.
CLEIMUN26 invites Delegates to collaborate diplomatically and develop dynamic and actionable solutions that tackle today’s pressing global challenges. Through negotiation and debate, delegates will use their voices and skills to redefine the role of these tension-creating forces in today’s society, advancing global peace and cooperation in the process.
How It Works
CLEIMUN’s unique style combines elements of MUN operating systems from across the world.
Typically, delegates in European models prepare draft resolutions before the conference. The delegates lobby and merge their resolutions with other countries in their committee with the goal of constructing a comprehensive set of ideas that will stand up to debate. After lobbying, resolutions go to the Approvals Panel, which makes sure the papers are formatted correctly.
Debate in CLEIMUN is oriented around the North American model. While the conference uses a speaker’s list to structure debate, many of the delegates’ discussions will take place in unmoderated caucuses.
The blend of two distinct styles of procedure allows delegates to experience the best of both worlds, while also encouraging robust debate.
CLEIMUN26 will take place in person at Saint Edward High School, located at 13500 Detroit Rd in Lakewood, Ohio. In the event that weather, COVID-19 or other circumstances prevent an in-person experience, we will transition to an online or hybrid format!
