CLEIMUN takes place in person at Saint Edward High School, in Lakewood, Ohio. In the event that weather or other circumstances prevent an in-person experience, the conference will transition to an online or hybrid format.

How It Works

CLEIMUN’s unique style combines elements of MUN operating systems from across the world.

  • Typically, delegates in European models prepare draft resolutions before the conference. The delegates lobby and merge their resolutions with other countries in their committee with the goal of constructing a comprehensive set of ideas that will stand up to debate. After lobbying, resolutions go to the Approvals Panel, which makes sure the papers are formatted correctly.

  • Debate in CLEIMUN is oriented around the North American model. While the conference uses a speaker’s list to structure debate, many of the delegates’ discussions will take place in unmoderated caucuses.

  • The blend of two distinct styles of procedure allows delegates to experience the best of both worlds, while also encouraging robust debate.
